Do you have experience providing clinical coding in a primary care setting, and experience using System One.

A busy 8-partner GP Practice is seeking an enthusiastic CLINICAL CODER to join our friendly team at our surgeries in Wimborne, Dorset.

As a Clinical Coder you will work closely with your colleagues and clinicians to ensure that all medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments are coded accurately and in a timely manner.

The post holder may also be required to undertake a wide range of administrative duties, to contribute to the smooth running of the practice and provide support to the whole multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with strong IT skills, be forward thinking and have a can-do attitude. Full training will be given but a willingness to learn and develop is essential.

The surgery has high levels of patient satisfaction and a friendly and supportive working environment. Excellent telephone and administration skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential

Main duties of the job

Review and analyse clinical documentation to accurately assign codes to diagnoses, procedures, treatments and results

Filing of clinical correspondence into the clinical system (SystmOne)

Annotating documents for the clinicians

Accurately workflow documents to ensure appropriate action is taken

Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations to maintain quality and integrity.

Collaborate with wider team and healthcare professionals to clarify information and resolve coding discrepancies.

Stay updated with changes in coding practices and healthcare regulations.

Generate reports and summaries as needed for auditing and performance analysis.

Miscellaneous administrative tasks as required
