Healthcare Assistant

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our highly committed team. The candidate needs to have the ability to work independently as well as being a good team player. Key duties will include venepuncture, blood pressure recording, health checks and ECGs. The candidate will need good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

The successful applicant should be:

• Qualified as a General Practice HCA and able to perform the majority of the duties as per the job description (please see attached)

NHS Health Checks

New patient health checks

ECG recording

Phlebotomy Inc. Home Visits

Urinalysis and specimen processing

Chaperoning duties

Blood pressure recording

B12, Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles vaccinations

Diabetes Checks pre-diabetes

Foot checks

CHD checks

Hypertension reviews

Fridge checks

Defib and emergency equipment checks

NOAC/DMARD Monitoring

QOF work

Weight management

Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking, stock rotation and control

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assist the Infection Control Lead

About us

We are a friendly GP Surgery on three sites in Leeds. Our main surgery, Bramley Village Health, and Wellbeing Centre is located near Bramley Town Centre in Leeds West. For this vacancy, we are looking for the post holder to work primarily from our Middleton site, located within Middleton Park Health Centre which serves nearly 7000 patients.

As well as Middleton and Bramley village we also have a third site, Cottingley GP Surgery which serves 2000 patients. As we continue to grow, support may be needed across all 3 of our Leeds sites.

We have a team of around 30 clinical and non-clinical staff members. Our clinical team comprises GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, and PCN staff. Our non-clinical team provide management, administration, and reception services.
