Job summary

The role of Admin Assistant to PM is pivotal to the successful management of the Briercliffe Medical Centre. Admin Assistant to PM is responsible for providing support to the Practice Manager and Doctors in ensuring that the patients clinical needs are met. As Admin Assistant to PM the post holder will be expected to work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure that Practice income around QOF areas and Enhanced Services is achieved.

Main duties of the job

  • To be the main point of contact in conjunction with the Practice Manager, for QOF and Enhanced Services
  • To work as an integral part of the team to ensure read codes are correct for Enhanced Services to enable searches to be carried out accurately
  • To carry out initial training and maintain staff awareness of how to perform searches and undertake recalls
  • To work with Practice Manager and QOF / IIF Area leads on developing and maintaining protocols
  • To work with Practice Manager on developing and maintaining protocols for Enhanced Services
  • To be admin lead for QOF, working with all clinical and admin staff to ensure maximum points are attained
  • To assist clinical teams on specialist projects including, but not restricted to, running searches, sending communication to patients, setting up processes and informing practice staff, providing reports.
  • To be responsible for checking data quality of patient records, correcting any errors in coding to ensure patient records are accurate
  • To ensure processes and monitoring are carried out following NICE guidance and best practice
  • To manage patient recalls for QOF, long term conditions, shared care and any programs that are introduced by NHSE or CCG
  • To attend meetings, cascade information to the Practice and utilise suggestions put in place

About us

The Practice has three partners: Dr Jawaid Khan (site GP Lead), Dr Mark Fuller, and Mr Methven Forbes.

We are involved in the training of Medical Students and are a Training Practice for ST2 and ST3 Doctors. Mentoring and support is available for newly qualified GPs. We have strong links with Lancaster, Sunderland, UCLAN and Manchester medical schools.

The wider organisation has practices based in Leeds, Gateshead and Devon. We provides care to over 56,000 patients using a diversified clinical team consisting of on-the-ground paramedics, ANPs, ACPs, Clinical Pharmacists, and a nursing team, with clinical supervision and mentorship by GPs.

The organisation is patient-driven and has used patient feedback in the past to develop innovative services such as a bespoke smart phone app, patient-centred practice websites, joint working with the third sector and a bespoke e-consultation service.
