Job summary

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic GP to join our practice based at Bramley Village Health & Wellbeing Centre. We are looking for between 4-6 sessions salaried GP ideally working Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

You would be working for the exciting , forward thinking organisation of the Fuller and Forbes partnership. If your looking for an interesting , innovative role please apply. We offer:

Main duties of the job

To support a practice and primary care, manage a busy and varied clinical caseload. The appointees will form a close working relationship with the practice / services where they are providing primary care services. They will take on the commitment of providing high quality and consistent care as an integral member of the team. A high degree of flexibility will be required, along with willingness to adapt to fluctuations in practice workload and be adaptable to the day to day demands of a busy general practice.

The Fuller and Forbes Partnership is run by Dr Mark Fuller (GP Partner) and Mr Methven Forbes (Managing Partner).

With a combined list size of 15,000 patients across three Leeds sites, the organisation is growing by around 6% per year and has a multidisciplinary team that delivers innovative services.

The organisation has a board structure with senior members of the clinical and non-clinical team directly involved in the decision-making processes of the organisation through our Senior Management Team and Clinical Reference Group.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities:

In accordance with the services timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results,( patient medical reports and examinations for

Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters NHS/private/CAB, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner; acting as duty doctor on a rota basis

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation;

Recording clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards;

Collecting data for audit purposes;

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible);

Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or nationally agreed guidelines (in the absence of locally agreed ones).

In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within any of the Leeds GP Practices.

From time to time there may be extra duties/responsibilities that may be required of the post-holder. These will be agreed with the Practice Manager, and there will be an expectation that new duties/responsibilities may be part of the role, but that they will be appropriate to the knowledge, skills and experience of the employed GP.

Awareness of and compliance with all relevant policies/guidelines,

A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.

A commitment (when seeing patients) to helping the practice promote safe, high quality care.

Maintain reaccreditation portfolio and undertake annual appraisal.

Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting.

Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.

Attending training, meetings and events organised by the service or other agencies, where appropriate.

Responsibility for completing Medical Reports / requests for patient information.

To be professional at all times and maintain a formal dress code.

  • A good knowledge of and interest in general practice and primary care
  • Strong levels of IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (SystmOne). Experience in using the Microsoft suite of programmes
  • Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care case load
  • A good understanding of Primary Care contracting requirements

Qualifications

  • A vocationally trained and accredited GP
  • MRCGP
  • Current registration with the GMC and appropriate representation with a recognised medical defence organisation
