Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Millcroft Medical Centre for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner Manager to join our team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking individual who can work well as an autonomous practitioner or part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner Manager will be responsible for the management of the ACP/NP/Paramedic and Triage team, consulting patients with acute medical problems, health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, as well as, supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.

Our current team has a full complement of allied health care professionals including, six GP partners, salaried GP's, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate, Health Care Assistants, Paramedics, SPLW's, First Contact Practitioners, Pharmacists, Business Manager, Practice Manager and a complement of highly skilled support staff.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the ACP Manager. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • Work with the Senior Management Team to coordinate the ACP/NP/Paramedic & Triage team rota, ensuring sufficient staff are available to meet patient needs.
  • Support the PM in managing holiday requests from the team to ensure adequate cover at all times.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of changes within the team, enhancing the provision of services to patients
  • Provide clinical supervision to the team, setting, monitoring, and reporting on development goals for the team.
  • Ensure all members of the team are up to date with all necessary training including mandatory training.
  • Support the practice manager in ensuring the team are compliant with professional registration and a staff record is kept on Teamnet.
  • Support all members of the team, providing guidance when necessary, conducting appraisals and training needs analyses as required
  • Comply with their respective code of professional conduct and within their scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for their decisions, actions and omissions at this level of practice
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of their broadened level of responsibility and autonomy and the limits of own competence and professional scope of practice, including when working with complexity, risk, uncertainty and incomplete information
