Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated manager to join this established and dynamic practice based in Mill Hill, NW London. Candidates should have a proven management track record in a primary care setting. They should possess strong leadership skills with a sound knowledge of general practice and competence in business management. They will work as part of the operations team in the practice.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Access and patient services

To adopt a quality improvement approach to continuous development of the practice access strategy

To ensure that practice resources are matched to planned service delivery including supply and demand

To use multiple patient feedback sources to monitor and drive improvement of the patient satisfaction and experience with practice services

To develop and deliver a patient engagement strategy

Ensure the practice complies with NHS contractual obligations in relation to patient care

Ensure non-clinical staff are appropriately trained and understand their responsibilities

Ensure effective access to registration for new patients

Manage practice complaints process in line with NHS guidance

Finance

Manage practice income through efficient claims management

Create annual cash flow and ensure robust budget management

Regular communication with accountants and booking team

Ensure effective payments to suppliers

Human Resources

Ensure maintenance of staff personnel records in line with best practice and current legislation including absence records

Ensure all mandatory and professional development training are completed and appropriately recorded

Maintain robust and well informed HR policies and procedures

Keep personal employment law knowledge up to date

Oversee practice appraisal system and training to meeting identify learning needs

Maintain effective communication with all staff and ensure a good level of pastoral care

Oversee staff meetings and social activities

Practice organisation

Ensure that the practice delivers all services in line with its contractual obligation

Monitor achievement of all performance indicators and service outcomes and maintain a focused delivery plan

Providing the Operational Director & Partners with regular management reports on performance

Contribute to Practice strategy, research and develop ideas, formulate objectives

Evaluate performance of Practice team against objectives, identify and manage change

Maintain overall responsibility for administration, ensuring it remains effective and efficient.

Convene meetings, prepare agendas and ensure distribution of minutes ensuring that actions are documented and fulfilled

Governance

To ensure full CQC compliance and maintenance or practice rating

Ensure a robust approach to health and safety including infection prevention and control & fire safety

Ensure adequate insurance cover including premises, contents, Employers and public liability

To operate assurance process including the maintenance of accurate logs and recording of ongoing monitoring processes

Ensure staff are trained in all relevant areas of governance and can demonstrate compliance in the daily activities

Maintain a schedule for risk assessment and mitigation in all key areas including the maintenance of a risk register

Responsible for assessing & implementing new directives and monitoring arrangements.

Planning to ensure that the Practice complies with all Care Quality Commission legislation
