Job summary
Nunwell Surgery has
an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and friendly GP to join our
Practice.
This role is uniquely supported by the Primary Care Network (PCN) Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) with a long term aim of increasing GP employment and increasing access to appointments for patients. The role will be employed directly by the practice.
You will not be beyond the second anniversary of certificate of completion of training (CCT) with no previous substantive employment.
Situated in a delightful market town with excellent transport
links to Hereford, Worcester and Malvern, a supportive ethos runs throughout
the practice and helps us maintain our established and loyal team. An ideal
area for families or for those wishing to make the most of our beautiful
countryside. Working 3 sessions per week to commence as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for
a motivated GP to undertake the usual range of duties including surgery face to
face consultations, telephone triage, video consultations, on-call, home visits (minimal) and the associated administration including but not limited to reports, path
lab results, documents and prescriptions in a timely fashion. We are keen to promote a healthy work life balance and can be flexible with work plans.
We offer chronic
disease management clinics and have an excellent nursing, pharmacy and healthcare team
who lead on this, enhanced services including minor surgery and sexual health.
We are high QOF
achievers, using EMIS Web, a dispensing and training practice, member of local
GP federation, and welcome any specialist interests.
Opportunities to
develop skills in frailty and learning disability through our medical support
of our local community hospital and care homes and across our Primary Care
Network of 4 practices in East Herefordshire. Supported by a frailty team of
occupational therapists, pharmacists, social prescribers, physiotherapists and care co-ordinators, we are part of a fully
functioning PCN.
We have a successful
dispensary with experienced staff and led by our in-house Pharmacist providing support and advice to
patients and clinicians.
About us
We have 5 partners and 4 salaried GPs, a nursing team with 2 nurse practitioners, 2 nurses and 2 health care assistants and currently recruiting a phlebotomist and a we have an on-site dispensary. Supported by our wonderful reception and administration teams, you will work closely with and across all areas.
You will be supported by the whole team, one of the partners will be a named mentor for you and we are very supportive of continued professional development.

practice timetable is designed to ensure the optimum delivery of our services
to patients and other contractual obligations and these will vary over
time. In accordance with this, and at
the present time, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties
including, but not limited to, triage; telephone and face to face consultations and queries; visiting patients at home and in the
community hospital; checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing
with queries; and handling results, correspondence and associated
administrative tasks in a timely fashion (paper based, electronic etc).
Participate
and contribute to effective functioning of the practice team and its links to
the wider communities
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care
workers within the organisation
Assess the health care needs of patients with
undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screen
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Develop
care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current
practice disease management protocols
Provide
counselling and health education
Adhere
to the clinical governance requirements of the practice
Adhere
to the information governance and information management requirements of the
practice including the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
Participate
in and comply with the commissioning requirements of the practice
Prescribe
in accordance with the practice prescribing guidelines
Attend
clinical meetings/other meetings as required
Undertake
other appropriate duties agreed between the practice and the employee.
In general the post-holder
