Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our well established busy dispensary team to assist in providing an efficient and effective dispensing service to our patients.

Ideally we would need a minimum of an NVQ2 qualified dispenser but would be willing to consider, for the right candidate, supporting training to undertake a new career pathway and become a qualified dispenser. Having a Pharmacist on site enables us to provide the mentorship required to complete qualifications through a leading pharmacy training company.

The role will suit a well-motivated, enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team and has good communication skills with both colleagues and patients.

Full-time and part-time considered. For a part-time role, the applicant will be required to work extra to cover holiday, sickness and other absence as necessary.

Previous experience of General Practice and knowledge of EMIS is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

You will dispense medication safely and accurately to patients at the practice eligible to receive their medication from our in house dispensary.

The role includes receiving requests, processing, dispensing and handing medication to approximately half of our patients for either acute or long term conditions.  You will deal with ordering and accepting stock including refrigerated items and controlled drugs.  You will liaise with patients, other practice staff, care homes and other NHS settings.

About us

Bromyard is a delightful small market town set in a stunning rural area on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border, an easy 25 min drive from Hereford, Worcester & Malvern, 40 min from Kidderminster/Droitwich

We have 9,500 patients, 5 Partners and 4 Salaried GPs in purpose built premises.

We are a Training and Dispensing Practice with linked Community Hospital, have an excellent Nursing Team including Nurse Practitioners/HCAs and are innovative and forward thinking.

We welcome qualified and experienced applicants or those looking for a new career to be fully trained by our Practice Pharmacist and knowledgeable and skilled team.
