We are a busy friendly practice in Dartford, looking for a P/T Receptionist to join our team for approx 20 hours per week over 5 days, It is a very rewarding role.

Main duties of the job
This role involves booking and cancelling patient appointments, prescriptions, new registrations, EConsults, scanning and varied admin tasks.

Job responsibilities
- To have a thorough knowledge of and follow all Practice procedures and protocols and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in protocols.
- To work in accordance with written protocols
- To pull/file notes if required
- To file post in medical records (if necessary)
- To fax and photocopy as requested
- To Read Code information on to patients computer records from scanned documents as requested by relevant GP or via other sources including encounters in person or via telephone as required and by following appropriate protocol
- To contact patients on the telephone as requested by GP and recording encounter data as appropriate
- To check for active actions in mail manager and action accordingly, i.e. set future recall or contact patient either by telephone or in writing asking them to repeat test. Book patient a repeat appointment with phlebotomist as appropriate
Reception
- Welcoming patients
- Generating repeat prescriptions according to Practice protocol
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking name and address.
- Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
- Ensure sound knowledge of Practice boundary
- Inform patients of test results either in person or on the telephone as per the Practice protocol
- Fax requested information when required following the Practice protocol and ensure that the fax is being sent to a safe haven.

- Process appointment requests for present and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person following the Practice Appointments protocol

- Must be computer literate but we are happy to train on our Emis system.
- Candidates must be available to cover sickness and holiday - Sometimes at short notice.

- Previous experience desirable but more importantly.....Must be team player, willing to learn and can multi task.
