for an enthusiastic, part-time (30 hours per week) General Practice Nurse to join our team of
Nurses and HCAs. Remuneration will be equivalent to Band6 depending
on skills, experience and education. Salary and working hours to be agreed. We
offer a good level of support for professional development, including generous study
time.
Main duties of the job
We would like to meet someone who
has completed educational preparation to work in general practice, and who has
knowledge and skills in all aspects of general practice nursing.
We are looking for someone with
skills and competence to provide;
treatment room care such as for wound assessment
and management, ECGs, spirometry, anticoagulant monitoring etc
support for management of long-term conditions,
including diabetes and respiratory conditions
vaccinations and immunisations for all ages,
including the childhood vaccination programme.
In particular, we are looking for someone with
an interest and qualifications in sexual health and cervical screening.

to join our friendly, high achieving teaching practice, set within the town of
Risca, Gwent. We have a patient population of approximately 9,000 patients and
pride ourselves on providing excellent care and support for registered
patients. You will work alongside a supportive team who are constantly striving
to create the best environment, not only for their patients but also their team

- Registered first level nurse.
- Current NMC registration.
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience)
- Community nursing specialist qualification (or equivalent)
- Working towards or willingness to work towards Masters level study
Desirable
- Independent and/or supplementary nurse prescribing qualification.
- Smear takers certificate/qualification
- Pertinent postgraduate diplomas in long-term conditions management, such as Diabetes, Respiratory, Family Planning, Wound Care, Minor Illness (or a willingness to undertake post graduate studies according to the needs of the practice).
- Mentor/teaching qualification.
- Clinical supervision training and experience.
