We are a 13700 patient CQC rated outstanding Practice searching for an experience Practice Nurse to join our expanding friendly team.
The clinical team here is made up of 5 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, Practice Nurse, HCA's, Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, First contact Practitioners, a Physicians Associate, Clinical Pharmacist and a Paramedic, underpinned by a strong administratvie team
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a professional, committed individual who will provide routine nurse services. Ideally you will have previous experience of working in Primary Care. Candidates should be computer literate and be competent in providing:
- Chronic disease management Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes.
- Childhood immunisation & travel vaccinations
- Cervical screening
- Contraception & HRT

The successful candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) and have a valid NMC number
- Demonstrate practical skills such as Spirometry, Peak Flow Assessments, BPs, Blood Glucose, ECG, and Vaccine administration.
- Have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to team working as a member of the team you will be supported by a full complement of clinical and non-clinical staff.

The Practice Nurse will work as part of our primary healthcare team providing care to the patients of Practice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed
- Knowledge of chronic disease management Asthma, COPD, hypertension, diabetes etc further training may be indicated
- Cytology smear taking, swabs, basic sexual health & contraception
- ECGs
- Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Hypertension Management
- Routine and Childhood immunisations
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
- Other tasks will include:
- Following all infection control procedures and ensuring everything is in place, regular checks etc.
- Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
- Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
- At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
- A duty to advise GPs of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
