We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to help us diversify and strengthen our workforce.

- 12 GP Partners
- 23 Salaried GPs
- 24 Nurses
- 6 Advanced Nurse Practitioners
- 4 Paramedics
- Pharmacists and a Pharmacy Technician
- First Contact Physiotherapists
- Health & Wellbeing Coach

- Social Prescribers
This dynamic and skilled team is supported by a committed management team and a strong cohort of administrative and reception staff.
Main duties of the job
This is a 12-month maternity cover position with the potential for a permanent role at the end of the contract.

Key Responsibilities
As a Practice Nurse, your main duties will include:

Supporting health promotion and wellbeing activities
-
Creating and reviewing care plans for long-term conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, CVD)
-
Providing routine nursing care in line with best practice (e.g. wound care, health checks)
-
Running chronic disease clinics and making referrals as needed
-
Giving travel health advice and vaccinations
-
Taking bloods and requesting tests when required
-
Keeping clear and accurate clinical records
-
Using appropriate coding and maintaining registers
-
Supporting in clinical emergencies
-
Giving vaccinations to adults and children
-
Advising patients on medicines (within your scope)

Recognising and responding to mental health needs

Providing opportunistic health advice

Guiding and supporting junior nursing staff

Taking part in shared learning and local health initiatives

- Qualifications & Training:
- Registered Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Relevant training and competency in chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD)
- Up-to-date immunisation and vaccination training
- Cervical cytology training (or willingness to undertake)
- Training in wound care and infection control procedures
Desirable
- Independent or Supplementary Nurse Prescribing qualification (V300)
- Diploma or additional qualifications in Diabetes or Respiratory Care
- Cervical cytology (if not already essential in your version)
- Training in spirometry, ear irrigation, and/or sexual health
- Mentor/teaching qualification or experience supporting student nurses
