Job summary
This role is
designed to support our clinical team by assisting with important
administrative tasks. Working at our practice, as part of the Correspondence
management team, you will assist in handling clinical correspondence for the GP
partners.
We are
looking for people who have experience of using EMIS and a good understanding
of medical terminology.
This role is
part of an established and experienced team within the practice, all
experienced persons will be considered for the role.

Main duties of the job
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Viewing clinical documents received from external sources, and coding them onto the clinical system
- Referring any documents/results that need further action to the appropriate clinician following in house practice protocols
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues, so teamwork and good communication skills are important.
Duties to include the following;
- Follow in house protocol on handling clinical correspondence
- Code and file documents received from external sources
- Work closely with the local PCN hub managing documents they have coded/dealt with on behalf of the practice
- Action any documents /results as per in house protocols
- Complete data quality checks on all work handled by the local PCN hub and report to supervisors with any issues
- Complete data quality checks on all internal work
- Engaging in staff meetings, share knowledge and skills
- Attending relevant training to support both the development of the practice clinical correspondence team and your own personal growth.

- Data quality check all GP2GP records received ensuring complete and full records are held by the practice
- Troubleshoot any personal IT issues and support administrative team members with any issues
- Attending digital updates and meetings relevant to the role
About us
We are a friendly, forward-thinking GMS surgery situated in the suburbs
of Southport with around 12,300 patients. We work from modern, extended
premises and there are five GP Partners, one Salaried GP, two Advanced Nurse
Practitioners, a Practice Nurse, three HCAs, a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy
Tech, and an experienced twenty person management, administration and reception
team.
We deliver quality patient care, achieve excellent QOF results and
