Job summary

Due to retirement after 33 years of service at the practice, Heathbridge House Surgery is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Practice Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established Practice Team. Working together with the GP Partnership and leading our Admin team you will assist in the development and running of the surgery and ensure that our patients continue to receive first rate care.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to assist in the development and running of the surgery and ensure that our patients continue to receive first-rate care. You will be responsible for the management of non-clinical work for both clinical and admin staff to ensure the high quality of reception, administration, secretarial and clinical services across the Practice

About us

We are a friendly, forward thinking GP practice who strive to continually improve our services for patients. The Team consists of five full time equivalent Partners, Practice Nurse, HCA, Community Chronic Disease Nurse and a well established administrative Team.

The successful applicant will have delegated responsibility for management of the Practice, remaining accountable to the Partnership through regular reporting thus enabling the Partners to focus on clinical care.

Essential

  • Experience of and success at communicating and managing people
  • Experience of managing teams and able to promote teamwork and employee satisfaction
  • Financial management experience including understanding of accounting systems, payroll and spreadsheets
  • Experience as a manager, with knowledge of employment law and business accounts
  • Knowledge/experience of building/estates management, maintenance and compliance

Desirable

  • Management experience in the NHS or in practice management
  • Experience of strategic business planning
  • Experience of working with regulatory bodies and preparing for inspections

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level qualification or evidence of minimum of five years experience in a Senior Management position.
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development.

Desirable

  • Relevant management of finance qualification.
  • IQT Bronze level
