We are an established training practice, looking after a growing population of 15,000 patients. We are passionate about medical education with two GP trainers and a medical student supervisor. Several of our GPs have a specialist interest in minor surgery, including skin surgery and carpal tunnel release performed in our purpose-built operating suite.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide high quality general medical services and work as part of the practice team as a Salaried GP in a purpose built and modern primary care setting.

Job responsibilities

Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral.

Work with clinical and operational colleagues in delivering a safe, high performing, effective, sustainable, innovative person-centred medical service.

Undertake routine surgery consultations, home visits where necessary, online and telephone queries from patients and health care professionals.

Contribute to the development of and adhere to protocols and care plans for the management of chronic disease and common medical conditions.

Contribute towards meeting the indicators outlined in the QOF and other locally and nationally agreed guidance.

Provide appropriate preventative healthcare, counselling, education and advice.

Adhere to the local prescribing formulary.

Provide free certification in line with Schedule 9 of NHS GMS Regulations (1992).

Attend practice and clinical meetings and forums.

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.

Record clear and accurate consultation notes to agreed standards and maintain patients clinical records.

Participate in clinical governance activity and contribute to the improvement inequality of health outcomes through the practices audit programme

Perform clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of General Medical Services.

Engage in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including participation in the annual GP appraisal scheme.

Support the wider practice team and respond to requests for advice and assistance.
