Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly practice nurse to join our growing team. You must have recent relevant experience as a practice nurse and be competent in usual practice nurse duties. This is on a bank contract, to meet the needs of the practice, on an adhoc basis. Flexible as to days and hours.

Main duties of the job

Practice nurse duties to include;

Phlebotomy

Wound dressings and management

Injections - Prostap, Depo-provera, B12, plus adult immunisations

Baby immunisations

Cervical smears

24 hour BP fitting

ECGs

Urinalysis

Job description

Job responsibilities

Job summary:

The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing the below services to the patients of the practice.

Job responsibilities:

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the GPs or other Clinicians

Cytology

ECGs

Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations

Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician

Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate

Maintaining and cleaning equipment

Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms

Participation in administrative systems in the Practice

At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records

  • A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks

Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
