Job summary

A GP Practice based in Southall looking for a locum doctor to do 4 sessions a week. AM and PM on Mondays and Am and PM on Tuesdays. Potentially 2 further sessions on Fridays AM and PM (negotiable).

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Our team consists of 2 Senior partners,1 locum doctor a Practice Nurse, HCA, 6 receptionists, Secretary, Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager

Job description

Job responsibilities

To be personally accountable for professional and ethical actions and practices within a legal and ethical framework that adheres to the GMC requirements and local policies and procedures.

To work in a non-judgemental and anti-discriminatory way, with regard to the cultural and religious beliefs of individuals and groups.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness

Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols

Providing counselling and health education

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

To interpret and explain complex facts in relation to a patients condition taking appropriate action and giving advice in a professional manner and when appropriate to family and other carers in such a way that protects and preserves the patients dignity.

Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
