Job summary

Due to an increase in patient population and staff progression, a post for a Health Care Assistant has become available at Milton Abbas Surgery in a beautiful area of Dorset. The role will support our Integrated Nurse Team, providing a full range of services to our patients both within the Practice and their own homes. This model of primary care nursing is especially well suited to a rural setting and is highly regarded by our patients and partners in healthcare.

Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities:

New patient health checks

ECG recording

Phlebotomy

Basic dressings

Basic Injections i.e. B12/flu (in line with practice policies and protocols)

NHS Health Checks

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients chronic health.

Undertaking specific clinical activities that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to named patient.

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.

Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
