Job summary
St Georges Medical Centre is looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to
join our Pharmacy team.
Our Pharmacy Technicians are valued and supported members of
the team, and work closely with clinicians and other Pharmacists , helping us continue safe and effective prescribing practice and the
obvious benefits that brings to our patients.
Supervision, oversight and support will be offered from a
Clinical Pharmacist, and training will be encouraged.
Main duties of the job
You will have an enthusiasm for patient safety, service
development, personal development, and are likely to have experience in either
a community pharmacy or primary care setting.
Good communication and IT skills will be vital, and you will
be qualified and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
Key tasks include:
Direct work with patients, including supporting safe
medication use, repeat prescription reconciliations, and leading Level 1
medication reviews.
Liaison with Practice colleagues and partner organisations,
including care homes, CCG Medicines Optimisation Teams and local Pharmacies.
Supporting safe systems of working, including leading
audits, communicating safety alerts and formulary changes.
Supporting delivery of contract requirements, including DES
contract and QOF targets.

Essential
- GCSE or equivalent in both Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- - Appropriately qualified and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

- Evidence of further training and qualifications.
