Job summary
We are seeking telephonists/administrators with excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills plus the ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly within the team.
The successful applicants must be prepared to work at either of our two surgery sites, Totton Health Centre or Forest Gate Surgery, both based in Totton, Southampton.
This vacancy is for various shifts working 20+ hours weekly. Also includes extended hours working up to 8pm. PM sessions: Monday to Friday; AM sessions: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Main duties of the job
Reporting in the first
instance to the Reception Team Manager, the successful candidate for this role must be computer literate and previous Reception experience is preferred.

We are a two-site partnership with a practice population of circa 25,000 patients.

To extract patient records when required

To take and record all messages according to practice rules

- TRAINING - To maintain skills and any certification required for all aspects of reception and administrative work. To attend all training as required including Fire Lecture, Resuscitation update, Safeguarding, Data Security Awareness, Manual Handling and Infection Control; this is not an exhaustive list.
- HEALTH & SAFETY - To ensure safe working practice at all times. To adhere to the Infection Control procedures as per practice policy. To attend Health and Safety courses that may be deemed appropriate from time to time.
- PERFORMANCE - To participate in annual performance appraisal.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a large team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to service needs whilst working in a busy environment
- Must be willing and have ability to extend role if required. Appropriate training to be agreed and provided by the Partnership
