Assistant Practice Manager - Maternity Leave

Job summary

Brookmill Medical Centre are looking to appoint an Assistant Practice Manager to cover maternity leave for around 12 months from September 2023. This is also a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring managers to get experience of managing in General Practice, working with a supportive and experienced team.

The postholder will work as part of a wider management team comprising the Practice Manager, Office Manager and Senior Administrator, (there will also be opportunity to spend time with the member of staff the cover is being provided for to ensure a smooth handover).

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, who is compassionate and confident with excellent communication and IT expertise, and the ability to support our staff and partners in the running of the day to day functions of a busy practice. Ideally you will have experience in working in General Practice at a supervisory / management level, but other NHS experience would also be considered for the right candidate.

About us

Brookmill Medical Centre is a busy GP Practice, who are also a training practice for future GPs. Based in Leigh, which is part of Wigan Borough, the practice is also part of Leigh Primary Care Network. We have a very experienced team who pride themselves on providing an excellent service to our patient population or over 9000 patients. We are a partnership made up of four GPs and Practice Manager and have a wide range of roles including Salaried GP, ANP, pharmacist, nursing team of 3 Practice Nurses, a GP Assistant and HCA, in addition to a large team of reception and administrative staff.
