Job summary
A highly regarded GP training practice in Amersham is now seeking a part time Salaried GP, to join them, with a mutual view to Partnership in time. Rectory Meadow Surgery is situated in Old Amersham and serves 10,600 patients.
GPs are supported by an experienced and developed nursing team and as part of Mid Chiltern PCN a mature and diverse range of additional roles, including Health and Wellbeing Coaches, Pharmacy Team, First Contact Practitioners, Social Prescribers and Care Coordinators.
The sessions and working days are flexible, we are looking for 4 - 8 sessions and we are happy to negotiate for the right candidate. The practice is working towards streamlining the day with regards to the amount of administration by using modern technology and good multi-disciplinary working

Main duties of the job
Main purpose of the role:
Manage a busy and interesting clinical caseload. The appointee will
also have the opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas
(monitoring trends in treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing
appropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list. The post holder will hold a registered list dependent on
sessions worked.
Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder
will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including
surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging,
visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and
dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and
examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral
letters NHS/private/e-referral, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
The post holder will hold a patient list and take part in the oncall rota.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting
problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers
within the organisation.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
(avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) including EPS;
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Practice situated in Old Amersham providing General Medical Services to over
10,500 patients. We have 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GP's and as a training practice sometimes up to 3 GP Trainees. The GPs are supported by a strong nursing
team with a wealth of general nursing and chronic disease management
experience.

Supporting the GP Trainer with teaching and training of doctors and
nurses (it is a GP Training Practice with GP Registrars and Foundation Year
doctors);
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice
policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, paper light; data
protection, health and safety, annual QOF, enhanced services and PCN obligations.
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based
best practice (including annual appraisals and revalidation);
Maintaining a personal professional portfolio;
Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the
organisation;
Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records;
Attending training, Practice Meetings and events organised by the
practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
Meet all tight timescales/deadlines for audits and written returns to
ensure that the Practice meets quality standards and receives the designated
funding
Representing the practice at meetings as the need arises i.e. PCN /
Locality.
To be professional at all times and maintain a formal dress code.
