First Contact Physiotherapist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) within St Helens South PCN, the successful FCP's will be required to work across sites within the Primary Care Network, working in collaboration with other health care professionals across the PCN to provide improved and integrated services for our patients in St Helens South. Please note this position is not based at Hollybank Surgery. The successful candidates will beemployed by rota however managed and supervised from St Helens South PCN.

Main duties of the job

First contact physiotherapists operate at an advanced level of clinical practice, with skills to assess, diagnose, treat and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) problems and undifferentiated conditions. This will involve seeing patients, without prior referral from their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan, thus streamlining pathways of care. They work independently in clinical practice and do not require day to day supervision. Patients can either self-refer or be referred by the networks members.

About us

St Helens South PCN is a large PCN comprising of 13 practices. We are split into 2 neighbourhoods with 6 practices being aligned to one neighbourhood and 7 to the other. Our Idea is to align the the 2 successful FCP's to one neighbourhood each to help manage workload and work effectively as a team.
