Job summary

Due to retirement, we have an excellent opportunity for a senior practice nurse to join our happy and innovative team. We look after 11,000 patients in a semi-rural location at the base of the stunning Malvern Hills. Whiteacres Medical Centre is a friendly training practice, we provide training to GP's and medical students. We have 5 GP partners, 4 assistant salaried GP's, GP registrars, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and an experienced nursing team, 6 part time practice nurses, 4 HCA's and a Clinical pharmacist working through our PCN who are all supported by a brilliant IT and Admin team.

The Practice is an active member of Malvern Town primary Care Network ( PCN) which is made up of 4 practices that work together with the aim of improving healthcare for the community and reducing health inequalities.

We consistently receive positive feedback from our lovely patients.

Salary is dependant on experience and skill but you could expect a generous remuneration for the right candidate

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced practice nurse to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to our practice population and provide chronic disease management, preventative care, screening and education. Treatment room duties, Chronic Disease Checks (in Diabetes is desirable), Immunisations, adult, childhood and travel vaccinations, Cervical Cytology, ECG's, Venepuncture, Assistance with coil fitting, Requesting pathology tests, Cleaning and maintaining equipment, Supervising anticoagulation clinics, Stock ordering, Supervise GP trainees and medical students who may sit in your own clinics, should have excellent communication skills.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To provide and maintain high standards of evidence-based patient care and work with practice policies and procedures.
  • To establish effective working relationships with colleagues and other agencies concerned with patient care to ensure a high standard of individual patient care is co-ordinated and maintained.
  • To work with and support the nursing team, fairly sharing the workload and supporting extended/ opening hours.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records including computerised information, in accordance with practice needs, policies and procedures.
  • To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to its principals.
