Main duties of the job

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
  • Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate information or redirecting as necessary
  • Maintain accurate patient records through data entry and updating electronic health records systems
  • Handle correspondence, including emails and postal mail, ensuring timely responses
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and organising documents
  • Support the team with general clerical duties to ensure efficient practice operations
  • Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are upheld at all times

Qualifications

  • Prior office or administrative experience is desirable but not essential ideally within a healthcare environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good telephone etiquette and communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment

Clinical team consists of 2 GP partners and 1 salaried GP, 5 ANPs, 1 Physicians Assistant, and onsite medicines management team.

Practice Nursing and Admin Teams who absorb most of the chronic disease, tasks, non-complex clinical care and admin work, all geared towards reducing GP and ANP workload.
