Job summary
We are seeking a professional and organised GP Receptionist/Administrator to join our medical practice team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for delivering excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Main duties of the job
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate information or redirecting as necessary
- Maintain accurate patient records through data entry and updating electronic health records systems
- Handle correspondence, including emails and postal mail, ensuring timely responses
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and organising documents
- Support the team with general clerical duties to ensure efficient practice operations
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are upheld at all times
Qualifications
- Prior office or administrative experience is desirable but not essential ideally within a healthcare environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good telephone etiquette and communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment
- Organised, reliable, with a keen eye for detail and confidentiality

Practice Nursing and Admin Teams who absorb most of the chronic disease, tasks, non-complex clinical care and admin work, all geared towards reducing GP and ANP workload.
