Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated
and hardworking individual to provide a high quality service to our patients
and contribute substantially to our Practice team.
We will consider applicants looking for full time and/or part time hours. Our morning shifts are 9.00am-1.00pm and afternoon shifts are 2.00-6.00pm. We require cover Monday to Friday.
You will
be responsible for providing telephone and face to face consultations for
patients of all ages who present with a wide range of acute or minor illness
and long term conditions.
You will act
as an autonomous clinician backed by the on call team and be responsible for
the assessment and prescribing of medicines.
Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities:
- Run autonomous minor illness clinics.
- Telephone triage, assess and consult patients with minor illnesses
- Minor injuries
- Wound care
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
Other tasks will include
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
- Participation in administrative systems in the Practice.
- Maintain accurate records at all times.
- Advise colleagues of potential problems within the range of assigned tasks.
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- Undertake home visits on specific occasions.
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.

- Completed the two year Consolidation of learning period as a newly qualified paramedic and have a further three years experience as a band 6 paramedic
- Clinical assessment skills
- Degree or evidence of study at degree level
- Minor Illness Diploma (training can be arranged)
- A demonstrable commitment to professional development
