Salaried GP(s) for expanding
Luton practice, situated on the north side of Luton with excellent transport
links. We are currently looking for a
Salaried GP(s) to join our traditional but forward-thinking friendly practice
for up to 4 sessions per week. You would
be working as part of a Multidisciplinary team, caring for a diverse patient
group in a very well-maintained purpose built practice building. We are a Training Practice and use System 1
Clinical System. High QoF achievers.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibility of the
role include: Undertaking a variety of
duties including:- on call, surgery consultations, telephone consultations,
checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork,
reports and correspondence in a timely fashion, also when required visiting
patients at home. Making professional,
autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether
self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the
organisation. Assessing the healthcare
needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors
and early signs of illness. Developing
care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current
practice disease management protocols.
Providing health education.
Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards. Collecting data for audit purposes and
complying with QoF requirements.
Delivering enhanced services.
Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat
prescriptions. All general duties and
responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About us
Larkside Practice is a busy
training practice in Luton. We are part
of eQuality PCN Network comprising of four local practices. We are looking for a caring, hard working and
focused GP to join our practice, working as part of the team with other
GPs. We have a full administrative
support team, ANP, Practice Nurses HCA, Phlebotomists, Pharmacist. We host AAA Scanning, CAMHS and Mental Health
Link Worker. We work as a team in a
busy, friendly caring atmosphere.

around 9.00 a.m. until 6.30 p.m. but this can vary. There are many opportunities to work flexibly
or part time.
What to expect there are
usually two sessions with patients held each day, with appointments lasting
about ten minutes each. Youll work as
part of a large multidisciplinary team that can include nurses and pharmacist. Youll make home visits between sessions for
patients who are unable to attend the surgery.
Telephone consultations are becoming more common and the use of
different forms of media is likely to expand in the future. We endeavour to ensure a work/life balance.

- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list
- Up to date with annual Statutory Mandatory Training
- A full clean driving licence

- Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention and screening services
- Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your annual mandatory training is in date.

- Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence based best practice
