Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Practice Nurse with a Specialist interest in Diabetes to join our clinical team. You will be working across two sites. Our dispensing practice is situated in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, 6 miles south west of Cambridge, with easy access to the M11 (junction 12). 

Main duties of the job

· Minor illnesses, carrying out routine consultations, collection of laboratory specimens, entering all consultations into patients records.

· Wound Care

· Adult and child immunisations

· Electrocardiograms

· 24hr blood pressure monitoring

· Blood glucose checks

· Height and Weight Checks

· Urinalysis

· Suture and staple removal

· Health Education and Advice

· Management of acute emergencies

· Treatment room Administration

· Desirable: Chronic Disease Management ideally Diabetes, Family planning, Travel Health Clinics

We are a happy established clinical team that is looking for the right Practice nurse to join our Nursing team.

We have an established nursing team of 3 qualified nurses supported by 3 HCA’s. We are also supported by PCN ARRS staff including a clinical pharmacist, pharmacy technician, first contact physiotherapist, social prescriber and health coaches.

We have excellent working relationships with other neighbouring practices, working collaboratively as part of Meridian Primary Care Network.

We are a Hub practice for the Cambridge GP Network Federation hosting Extended Access appointments.

Our practice area is semi-rural, with a stable patient population encouraging good continuity of care.
