Job summary

Practice Nurse - Approx13 hours per week

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse. Your weekly hours will be approximately 13 hours per week over 2 days, Tuesday and Friday.

Applicants will be expected to work as part of our friendly Practice team and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Salary is dependant on experience and qualifications.

Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced nurse and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training

  • Monitor and assist with the management of long-term conditions, health promotion, prevention and screening.
  • To be supported by the PN Team Leaders and to work within scope of own competencies.

Work collaboratively with the Practice team and work in accordance with the NMCs Code of Conduct

As a busy GP Practice and NHS Walk-in-Centre, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Nurse to join our large, friendly team.

Our team has 8 Clinical Partners,1 Salaried GP and 2 long term locums who will support our patient list of around 16,000.

We are based in modern premises and are committed to training and development of our service provision and our people.

General Nursing Services To carry out general treatment room duties, and to provide nursing care/treatment to patients, to include:

  • Wound Care

  • ECG
  • BP and urine checks
  • Removal of sutures/clips
  • Ear syringing
  • Height/weight checks and dietary advice
  • Chaperoning
  • New Patient Medicals as required
  • Contraceptive pill checks and depo provera
  • Acute and Chronic Disease management
  • Injections and Immunisations
