Job summary

To work as part of a multi-displinary team, providing a monthly or bi-weekly podiatry treatment service to a general range of patients of all ages in a general practice NHS setting. You would work as an independent clinician at Band 6/7 level, working in liaison with the General Practitioners and Practice Diabetic nurses on-site, to provide an assessment and treatment service to our NHS patients. The ideal candidate would have an HCPC recognised Podiatry degree and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This is a fixed term contract for 6 months.

Main duties of the job

To provide an enhanced in-house podiatry service for General Practice, providing assessment, advice and clinical treatment of patients with acute (non-routine) issues, including from online consultations, and including diabetic foot issues, treatment of fungal nails, minor surgery to in-growing toenails, musculoskeletal podiatry, high-risk limb care for those with complex health needs. Referring on to other services where appropriate to do so. To suport the Healthcare team with any issues arising from routine diabetic foot checks.

  • Registration with the relevant professional body and eligibility to work as a Podiatrist.

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care and ethical practice.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in Podiatry or related field.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or internship setting is desirable but not essential.
