Job summary
Due to the expansion of our centralised Prescription
Hub, an opportunity has arisen for two Pharmacy Technicians to be recruited to
join our growing Pharmacy team. This innovative role within the Practice is to
support our GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Prescription clerks and other Clinical
staff and reception teams. The role
involves coordinating discharge summaries, medication reviews, playing a central
role in repeat prescribing processes, liaising with our patients and
colleagues. We are also developing
Pharmacy Technician clinics, which will form a regular part of the role; as
well as supporting Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians.
Experience of
a pharmacy technician role in a primary care setting would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job
This role
will involve supporting medicines management by working within the general
practice setting under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacists. You will
work as part of the practice team providing specialist medicines management
advice to GPs, Nurse / Paramedic Practitioners, Community Pharmacists,
Reception teams and other health professionals to promote the safe, effective
and high quality, cost effective use of medicines in all prescribing decisions.
The role will focus on improving the repeat prescribing process, relieving
clinical workload pressures, and increasing the uptake of electronic repeat
dispensing.
