Job summary
To complement our ARRS PCN team, we are looking for a Salaried GP to join us for 8 sessions per week. The PCN will take applications from any GP who is not beyond the second anniversary of their certificate of completion of training. We offer a competitive salary. Medical Indemnity and NHS Pension. Main duties of the job
You will be working across one or more practices within the PCN carrying out task such as seeing patients face to face, completing telephone consultations and Home Visits. You will also be required to make referrals for patients as appropriate, process Prescription requests and review lab reports.You will work alongside the practice GP's and staff towards the QOF, DES & Primary Care Offer targets.
About us
Walsall East 2 PCN are looking for a qualified Salaried GP to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will provide support to the practices within the PCN. You will work closely with the practice staff and other ARRS roles.
Walsall East 2 PCN is made up on 5 local practices (Rushall Medical Centre, Northgate Practice, Portland Medical Practice, Collingwood Family Practice and Blackwood Health Centre) and serves a population of around 43,000 patients. The PCN has an above average population aged 65 years +.
We are an innovative PCN that work closely together in a proactive manner to ensure a high standard of patient care and satisfaction.
Northgate Practice are the lead practice for the PCN, however, all Walsall East 2 PCN contracts of employment are under OurNet Health Services Ltd. Day to day management is by the PCN Management Team, in conjunction with the member practices.

Job responsibilities
- You will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- You will make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the practice or external organisations.
- You will assess the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- You will screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- You will work alongside the Practice and PCN staff to support the achievement of the QOF indicators, ensuring that all data is recorded appropriately.
- You will work alongside the Practice and PCN staff to support the achievement of the PCN DES requirements, ensuring that all data is recorded appropriately.
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, you will developing care plans for health-related illnesses.
- You will screen patients for health education.
- You will refer patients to other care providers as appropriate.
- You will record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- You will collect data for audit purposes and contribute to the practice audit programme as required.
- You will compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions using ESP (avoiding physical or hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
- You will prescribe in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- In general, the you will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical council, all other Royal colleges and councils applicable to the staff within the practice, Department of Health, Clinical Commissioning Groups and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations.
