Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Doing as Practice Business Manager
As our Practice Business Manager, youll play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running and future development of the practice. You'll oversee the smooth operation of both sites, managing people, processes, and performance. From supporting the clinical and admin teams to ensuring we meet targets and deliver high-quality patient care, your role will be all about keeping the practice efficient, compliant, and patient-focused.

Primrose Bank Medical Centre is a long-standing, friendly GP practice with two sitesone in the heart of Blackburn town centre and another near Ewood Medical Centre. We have three dedicated GP Partners and a fantastic team of ARRS roles, including pharmacists, physician associates, an ACP, and a mental health practitioner. Our nursing team includes two part-time practice nurses and a full-time healthcare assistant, all supported by a hardworking and welcoming admin team.

Job SummaryPrimrose Bank Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Business Manager to lead the operational and strategic management of the practice across two sites. Youll be joining a supportive and established team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse population of nearly 9,800 patients.
As a member of North PCN, which includes five practices working collaboratively across Blackburn, you will be involved in shaping services and contributing to wider network goals.
This is a key leadership role requiring someone with solid general practice experience, ideally having led a CQC inspection and comfortable working within NHS and regulatory frameworks. You'll ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly while supporting long-term planning, staff development, compliance, and service improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic Management

Operational Management

Manage the day-to-day running of both sites, including staff scheduling, service delivery, and premises oversight.
