Job summary

We are looking to recruit a clinical coder to our practice team. Your main responsibility will be actioning incoming emails, post and electronic documents. You will be required to code any relevant clinical information and ensure any follow up is actioned.

There are a team of two clinical coders covering Limefield Surgery and Redlam Surgery, which are located close to each other, cross site working is required.

We are a high referrer into the Integrated Neighbourhood Team and ideally would like someone with a passion for identifying and supporting patients referrals to develop this role. (Training would be provided)

Main duties of the job

Coding and actioning incoming clinical documents and sending tasks as appropriate.

Ensure all documents are coded accurately in patients records

Task the appropriate team with any further actions needed.

Deal with tasks from clinicians regarding patients

Liaise with other services when requested

Support social prescribing referrals

About us

We are a small but busy practice based in Blackburn. We have approximately 4500 patients. Currently we have two GPs, one Advanced Clinical Practitioner, two Physicians Associate, a Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant. We also work closely with the Clinical pharmacists from the Primary Care Network and other Health Care professionals.

  • GCSE's A-C in English and Maths.
  • Experience of clinical coding
