Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate practice nurse to join our nursing team.

The successful candidate will be NMC registered and be comfortable working within your own competencies and professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC. In addition, you will ideally have experience of working within a GP practice setting and have the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, at all times promoting safety with excellent patient care. We would like applicant to provide details of any training courses done post reg eg Diabetes, asthma, contraception, cytology.

Job Types: Part-time. Four sessions a week. Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Assist in routine tasks such as cytology, wound care, removal of sutures, new patient medicals, urinalysis, travel clinic, contraception reviews, routine and childhood immunisations, and chaperoning.

Request pathology tests (urine culture, swabs, blood tests).

LTC management including diabetes, asthma, COPD , Hypertension

Clinical Tasks:

Follow agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate.

Maintain and clean equipment used by nurses and GPs.

Maintain GP and nurses' rooms, stock and rotate items as required.

Maintain accurate records of mandatory checks.

Order vaccinations to maintain stock levels.

Participate in administrative systems in the practice.

Attend and participate in practice meetings.

Undertake home visits if required.

Perform any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.

We are in Whitechapel is a built-up inner-city district in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, London. Albion Health Centre It is two minutes walk from Whitechapel tube station. It is situated nearly opposite Royal London Hospital in a grand listed building and extremely well connected by over ground train, Tube and bus services.

  • Essential in cervical screening, immunisations, contraceptive advice, LTC management, wound care, and general nursing duties. Experience in GP practice and using EMIS software.
