Job summary
We are looking to attract a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to assist in the delivery of medicines management of Primary Care Services to work in a friendly, high performing and forward-thinking practice. This is a full-time post but part-time would be considered.
The successful candidate will be a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Previous experience of working in a GP practice is desirable but not essential. You will be confident in working independently; able to prioritise workload and work well as part of a team.
The focus of the work is to maximise the clinical and cost effectiveness of prescribing and performing medication reviews with the patients of the practice. Clinical patient facing qualification in a long-term condition is desirable.
Main duties of the job
The pharmacist role includes repeat prescribing* and medicines management to include making recommendations and implementing changes to maximise cost-effectiveness. Implementing ICB medicines management initiatives and position statements and providing data and audits.
*Repeat prescribing is DESIRABLE but not essential.
Leading regular prescribing meeting and playing an active part in other meetings and working closely with the managers of the practice.
Undertaking long-term condition management and performing medication reviews. Responsibility for vaccine, drug and appliances ordering, stock control and claims. Taking part in the vaccination programmes the practice offers.

The practice has 7 GP partners for approximately 11,400 patients. We have a supportive and professional nursing team including nurse practitioner, practice nurses and health care assistants. We also have a very supportive and helpful administration team. The practice is a training practice for ST2 and ST3 doctors.
Our CQC rating is good and our achievements in the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) are high.
