Job summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaner to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our GP practice. The role involves ensuring that all areas, including consultation rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, and staff facilities, are cleaned and sanitized to meet infection control and health & safety regulations.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning of all areas, including floors, surfaces, furniture, and restrooms.
• Disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and reception desks.
• Replenish consumables, such as hand soap, sanitizers, and toilet paper.
• Handle waste disposal in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Follow infection control procedures, particularly in clinical areas.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored and maintained properly.
• Report any maintenance or hygiene issues to the practice manager.
• Adhere to confidentiality and data protection policies.
• Requirements:

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
• Awareness of health & safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
• DBS check may be required.
