What do we need?

We are looking for an engaged, positive, friendly, hard-working and resilient individual to join our salaried GP team at Cheadle Medical Practice.

We're working in an area with a very busy day-to-day operation, so we need someone flexible and resilient. We operate a unique system of triage designed to protect GPs from unnecessary workload.

The post would be for 4-8 sessions per week. Currently we allocate one triage doctor per day, so you would be expected to be part of this rota.

In our PCN, we have access to a Pharmacy Hub, First Contact Physio, Social Prescriber, Care Coordinator and Visiting Service, as well as Workflow Optimiser and Medical Reports Lead to help reduce GP workload.

We are happy to be flexible where we can around working days, but generally we are looking for applicants to work on Thursdays and Fridays as a minimum.

How to Apply

Please apply using the portal. The deadline is Sunday 14th April 2024.

We would strongly encourage all applicants to contact us for an informal discussion about the role before applying.

For an informal discussion/visit please contact yousaf.khan1@nhs.net / gmicb-sto.cmppracticemanager@nhs.net.

Main duties of the job

A Typical Day

  • 15 appointments in the morning session, 13 appointments in the afternoon session (10 minute appts).
  • We have an allocated 'triage GP' each day, and two paramedics who do the majority of the home visits. This means when you are doing normal sessions, any additional visits are built into the morning, rather than being 'extras'.
  • Triage doctor each day required to stay until 6:30pm. Any GPs working a normal day leave when the work is finished, which can be earlier.
  • A 'fair share' of daily paperwork (lab reports, prescriptions, clinical letters etc.)
  • We are a very busy practice, but we try our best to avoid extras where possible.
