We are looking to employ an experienced Part time receptionists with excellent communication skills who MUST have previous experience of working in aGP Surgery.

The successful candidate will join a busy GP Practice during a time of change on how patients will interact with the practice.

As the first point of contact, this role is integral to our approach to patient care, both face to face and on the telephone.

Main duties of the job

Experience in EMIS Web andWorking in a Gp Surgery is essential.

Answering telephones in timely manner, booking cancelling appointments, managing DNA appointment, making phone calls, Maintaining daily tasks.

Must possess good communication/customer service skills, good computer skills, experience of working in a team, ability to deal with difficult situations and awareness of customer care and confidentiality.

As our patients first point of contact with the GP Surgery, you will need to be confident in dealing with queries in person, online and over the phone, solving and adapting to the needs of the practice.

This position combines both Medical Receptionist and Administrator duties and will require you to work independently and as part of a team.

We are looking for 2 Part-time receptionists to work in our busy practice. We have a list size of over 8000 patients. Our team has 2 GP partners, 2 Gp associates, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacist, 1 ANP, 1 Practice Nurses,1 HCA, 2 GPA and an admin team.

Job responsibilities

Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.

Job responsibilities:

Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.

Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.

Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.

Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.

Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours, either on the computer or manually.

Prepare lists and notes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of all associated paperwork.

Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.

Enter patient information on to the computer as required.

Patient notes and correspondence:

Retrieve and re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to.

Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc are filed promptly and in the correct records, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen.

Ensure records are kept in good repair with all necessary information on the outside cover clearly visible.

Checking and actioning, Emails, Right Fax and Accu Rx

Replenish Registration, Ethnicity, Change of details form and any other forms.
