Job summary

Are you a passionate and dedicated General Practitioner looking for an exciting opportunity in the beautiful village of Topcliffe? We are seeking a newly qualified or experienced GP to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work 4 sessions per week (Monday and Thursday) and may have the possibility of a future partnership, should this be of interest. We are expanding our GP team due to a growing patient list and are looking for someone who will complement our practice.

Main duties of the job

As a salaried GP, you will be an integral part of our primary care team, delivering high-quality care to our patients. Yor responsibilities will include:

Conducting consultations (Face-to-face, telephone, and e-consultations)

Providing treatment for medical conditions

Offering preventative care and managing chronic illnesses

About us

Topcliffe Surgery is a well-established, friendly, 2 partner dispensing practice situated in the picturesque village of Topcliffe. We operate out of a purpose-built surgery and are proud of the collaborative working environment that we have fostered.

In addition to the two GP partners, our team includes:

1 Salaried GP

2 Practice Nurses

1 HCA

A support team of receptionists, dispensary staff and administrators

We also have the support of various roles through the ARRS scheme, including a Pharmacist, Physicians Associate, an MSK Practitioner and a Mental Health Practitioner. Our clinical system is SystmOne.

Job responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated GP to join our practice. During your working hours, you will provide NHS General Medical Services to our patients. The ideal candidate will be registered with the GMC and Performers List and willing to comply with an Enhanced DBS check.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Consultations: Covering surgeries as per the agreed job plan, including a combination of 15-minute face-to-face appointments and 10-minute telephone consultations.

Patient Care: Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, diagnosis, treatment, referrals (where appropriate), and offering preventative advice.

Patient Records: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and clear records of patient consultations and updating the status of medical conditions and diagnoses on a timely basis.

Clinical Documentation: Actioning incoming clinical documents, reviewing blood results and signing prescriptions.

Clinical Audits: Participating in practice activity audits, with the potential to lead in an appropriate clinical area.

Administrative Duties: Managing clinically related administrative tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of general medical services and to meet clinical and financial targets (e.g. QOF).

Prescribing: Prescribing in line with the local prescribing formulary, when clinically appropriate.

Education: Engaging in appropriate educational activities to maintain and improve clinical and managerial competence and performance.

Duty Doctor: Participating in the duty doctor rota as required.
