EXPERIENCED GENERAL PRACTITIONER

We are a friendly GP Surgery looking for an enthusiastic and experienced General Practitioner who is looking to progress their career in General Practice. The candidate will join our existing Clinical Team of two GP Partners, one Nurse Partner, three Salaried GPs, additional GP Registrars/F2s, three Practice Nurses, one Nurse Associate, one trainee Nurse Associate and two Health Care Assistants. This will be in addition to one Practice Pharmacist, one Pharmacy Technician, one First Contact Physiotherapist and one Mental Health Practitioner.

We have a very supportive, flexible, forward thinking Clinical Team and pride ourselves on strong team working.

Full or part time hours to be negotiated.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will deliver a safe, competent and acceptable standard of medical care, maintain appropriate and accurate record keeping as well as be involved in the Practice development.

Responsibilities are not limited to but will include:

* Participating in activities required to assess compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards

* Providing high-quality medical services in the context of General Practice to the patients registered with Highcroft Surgery

* Providing appropriate care and services to patients in all age ranges and levels of health care needs

About us

Highcroft Surgery in Arnold is a dynamic, fast paced, forward thinking GP Practice serving 12,000 patients. This role is for a minimum of 25 hours per week up to full time (37 hours per week). Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

General Practitioner (GP)

* To work autonomously providing general medical services for patients of Highcroft Surgery registered with us on a permanent, temporary or immediately necessary basis

* To deliver a safe, competent and acceptable standard of medical care, taking part in the day-to-day activities of Highcroft Surgery including surgery, paperwork and home visits where appropriate

* Maintaining appropriate records to ensure continuity and quality of care for patients. These must be accurate, and where possible, avoid jargon to ensure patients understand the content if viewing their clinical notes

* To collaborate with other GP Partners/employees and practice staff of Highcroft Surgery on practice development to achieve all clinical performance targets and directed or local enhanced services for Highcroft Surgery or Primary Care Network (PCN)

* To take part in Practice Team leadership and take clinical responsibility and accountability for practice population

* Working to promote Highcroft Surgery positively and engage with patients in order to improve service delivery

Location:

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job:

* To produce and comply with a work plan developed in partnership with the Practice Manager and Partners to ensure all practice and other work is delivered appropriately and safely

* To undertake appropriate clinical risk assessments and work with the wider team to implement management strategies for risks identified

* Participate in activities required to assess compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards

* To provide high-quality medical services in the context of General Practice to the patients registered with Highcroft Surgery

* To provide a full range of services in line with the agreed requirements of the practice NHS contract including the quality and outcomes framework and any local and enhanced services

* To provide any services as required for the Primary Care Network agreement including shared QOF standards and service specifications

* To provide appropriate care and services to patients in all age ranges and levels of health care needs

Role Specific Duties:

* To respond to medical/health problems presented by patients on the registered list including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate

* To provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways

* To read and interpret test requests and results ordered by you and other team members taking appropriate action based on the findings

* To provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients attending the practice

* To prescribe generically for patients as appropriate to need and be able to provide appropriate clinical rationale with support from the Medicines Management Team

* To carry out appropriate administrative and other duties in line with the needs of the practice including referral to other services, maintenance of records, managing registers etc.

* To maintain clinical records either written or computer based in line with professional code and requirements utilising appropriate coding

* To work in line with appropriate practice policies and procedures including human resources, safeguarding children etc.

* To provide appropriate health education and advice to patients and carers to enable self-management and choice

* To undertake appropriate audit in practice to identify clinical quality issues and markers and define processes to improve clinical outcomes
