Job summary

6 sessions pw (not Friday), for 18 months in the first instance

£9,000 - £9,500 per session according to experience

We are seeking a salaried GP with strong clinical skills to join our democratic, forward-thinking practice.

Main duties of the job

We'd like you to bring a commitment to serve our varied practice population, and you will have the opportunity to play a full role in all aspects of the practice.

St Martin is an urban training practice, caring for a patient list of 6800. Excellent QOF and target achievement and a track record of innovation and learning. Excellent skill-mixed nursing team doing long-term condition management. Well-developed Patient Support Team who are care navigating & managing the clinical letters. Wide range of attached staff and services. Active member of Chapeltown Primary Care network.

Job responsibilities

Job plan

  • 14 ten minutes appts or equivalent / session
  • Visits (agreed rota)
  • Share of duty rota, as agreed
  • Share of Tues late rota (shared per WTE)
  • Repeat px queries & signing scripts (agreed rota)
  • Action clinical correspondence per protocol including working with clerks
  • Actioning pathology results per practice procedure
  • Referrals per practice procedure
  • Maintaining knowledge of, & and liaising with, relevant health & care services including hospital trust, community trust & 3rd sector
  • Record keeping to recognised standard
  • Responsibility for continuing & on-going care of patients, seeing cases to conclusion
  • To work as part of the practice team to ensure continuous quality improvement, audit, the improvement of systems & care management
  • Participating in practice meetings including practice meeting, clinical meeting
  • Medical reports as required
  • Authorising release of medical records under SARs legislation, & patient online access to complete medical record
  • Personal CPD

  • GMC registration & previous GP experience

  • Experience working with patients from areas of social deprivation &/or health inequality.
  • Demonstrated effective time management & prioritisation
  • Proven experience in generating & leading improvement initiatives eg to services, pathways or working arrangements
  • Ability & willingness to act as a service user advocate
  • Awareness of the social context of general health care for individuals & the population
