Medical Secretary Testvale Surgery, Totton, Southampton 15 hours per week, spread over a Wednesday, Thursday PM and Friday PM.

Main duties of the job
The role will be challenging and rewarding and will provide the opportunity for advancement and development. Informal visits to the Practice are welcome.
We are looking to appoint a Medical Secretary who possesses the skills to support the smooth day to day running of the Practice. The key elements of this role include:
Ability to perform secretarial roles confidently such as transcribing, audio typing, letter and report writing;
Making electronic referrals and bookings through the Choose and Book Service;
Attending meetings to take and distribute minutes;
Dealing with telephone enquiries and appropriate use of the practice clinical system.
The successful candidate will possess professional secretarial qualifications and a good general education to GCSE standard. You will have previous secretarial experience, ideally working in the National Health Service along with strong medical terminology skills.

Testvale Surgery has been in its current location in Salisbury Road Totton since 1987. We are passionate about the care we provide for our patients and always try to offer convenient appointments with the highest quality care. We provide GP services to approximately 13,000 patients in the Totton area.
We currently have 6 Partners and 6 Salaried doctors, along with a very experienced and professional nursing team.
As a Medical secretary you would work in our fast paced secretarial team to help patients, Doctors, staff, visitors and other health care professionals.
