Job summary
We are looking for a 9 - 12 months Locum GP to cover 5 sessions per week on a Monday, Tuesday and half day Wednesday. We are looking for someone who is proactive, enthusiastic and happy to work as part of an outstanding, long established clinical team and the role would include covering duty doctor and on-call rotas on a fair share basis. We are offering an attractive reimbursement for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Your normal working week will be:
Monday-2 Sessions, Tuesday-2 Sessions and Wednesday morning only-1 Session.
Normal Working Day Start Time: 08:30
Finish Time (and time of last appointment): 17:00 (16:30)
Normal AM Surgery:
Mixture of 16 Telephone/Face to Face (8:30-11:30)
Statutory 20 min break
Admin Time: 50 Mins 11:50 - 12:40
Visits: Fair share of visits between 13:00 - 14:00
Admins time: 60 mins 14:00 - 15:00
Normal PM Surgery:
Mixture of 10 Telephone/Face to Face (15:00 - 16:40)
Admin Time: 20 mins 16:40 - 17:00
Hours worked this day: 8 hours and 10 minutes
Duty Doctor:
The Duty Doctor AM role runs from 08.30 13:00 hours.
The Duty Doctor PM role runs from 13:00 18:00 hours.
The Duty Doctor Day role runs from 08.30 18:00 hours
The Duty Doctor has an on the day surgery consisting of face to face and telephone appointments, plus allocated slots for nursing queries and urgent overflow appointments. The Duty Doctor will also receive urgent tasks such as INR results to review and other urgent queries requiring the input of a Duty Doctor. When a patient's usual GP is not available to deal with administrative requests in the required timescale, they will be directed to the Duty Doctor.
The Duty Doctor will be the first point of contact by staff requiring urgent medical advice for unwell patients presenting at the Practice.
The Duty Doctor will electronically sign all outstanding ETP items by the end of their session.
