Job summary

Do you want to be part of a new exciting and innovative clinical team in Carlisle Healthcare?You will work closely within the clinical team, providing targeted help to patients

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individuals, with the confidence and skills to establish a quick rapport with patients. Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in phlebotomy and general treatment room duties. The role has potential to expand to include additional duties to support the Practice Nursing team

The post holder will be required to work across our 3 sites. The successful candidate(s) can be either full-time or part-time however part-time workers are still required to undertake a full working day.

Typical working Day is :- 8.00 am - 6.30 pm

Salary - starting pay will be dependent on experience

Main duties of the job

Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Team Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care

o Clinical Pharmacists

o 17 Practice nurses and HCAs

o Senior management and administrative support teams

o We also work in collaboration with a number of clinicians who work remotely to augment clinical capacity

We are a GP training practice and also have learners in a number of disciplines and at different stages (including medical students, nursing students, advanced clinical practitioners and apprentices).

Twenty Four hour BP monitoring and Seven day blood pressure protocol

Minor Dressings under direction of PN

Vitamin B injection under PSD

Administration of Flu under PSD

Removal of sutures and clips

LTC Health checks and Hypertension monitoring

High risk drug monitoring

Mental Health and Learning disability reviews

Diabetic foot examinations

NHS Health checks

Warfarin monitoring under supervision of NMP

Data entry in all Templates including INR Star.

Phlebotomy

Spirometry

Micro suction

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
