Job summary

The Alexandra Practice is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Salaried General Practitioner to join our supportive and forward-thinking team.

This is a part-time opportunity (3 to 5 sessions per week), and candidates must be available to work on Fridays. We are particularly keen to recruit a GP with a strong interest in womens health, with opportunities to develop and lead in this area within the practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care across booked and same-day appointments
  • Manage acute and long-term conditions in line with current guidance
  • Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and practice development
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using EMIS Web
  • Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement
  • Engage in proactive and preventive care, particularly in women's health (if interested)
  • Collaborate with the wider clinical and administrative team to support safe, effective care

The GP will manage a varied caseload, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a primary care setting. Responsibilities include consultations, home visits, prescribing, and contributing to the overall clinical and operational functioning of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct in person, telephone and online consultations, home visits, and health assessments.

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions.

  • Prescribe in line with the practice formulary; issue repeat and acute prescriptions.

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records.

  • Develop care plans, provide health education, and refer patients when necessary.
