Practice Administrator 

Experienced Practice Administrator required for large GP practice in Islington to join our team of Administrators.  

Main tasks are to manage medical reports and electronic referrals for our patients  

Opportunity to bring experience in previous role and develop new processes and procedures.   

Looking for someone to come and join our team of 10 admin and reception staff. 

Main duties of the job

Managing Admin tasks across the team: main tasks are managing patient referrals and patient reports.   

About us

Large GP practice in Islington with 10,000 patients and 30 staff. Strong team atmosphere, strong welbeing initiatives.

There is no car parking available at the Practice.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR

REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER

HOURS: Full-time 37.5 per week

JOB SUMMARY

Along with other Practice Administrators undertaking key Admin Tasks for the practice, liaising with patients, staff and external agencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting

Managing all patient requests for medical reports and letters. This will involve liaising with patients, GPs, and insurance companies, including all SARs (subject access requests).

Referral Management

Generating and booking all e-referrals for clinical staff. Dealing with any queries regarding eRS.

Admin

Standard admin tasks: managing mailboxes (Docman), running task audits, booking patients into appointments, data entry.

IT

Using and developing use of software within the Admin team.

Secretarial

Occasional secretarial support for GPs.

Customer Service:

Managing patient expectations in a professional manner.

Understanding the importance of good customer service in a healthcare environment.

Communication

Good level of spoken and written English.

Competently dealing with e-mails, telephone and face to face queries,from patients, staff and other healthcare professionals.

Teamwork

Being part of a team of 30 colleagues.

Provide occasional holiday and sickness cover for colleagues as required.

Other

Being adaptable and willing to take on new tasks.

Multitasking in a busy environment.

Any other tasks as requested by the Practice Manager.
