Job summary
We have a new opportunity to join a successful and hard working GP Practice as an IT Assistant. The position involves working alongside the existing IT Team to support the IT Manager in managing the practice’s IT systems and all aspects of keeping the patient database and patient records up to date and accurate.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will include registering and deducting patients on a daily basis and ensure patients’ details are accurate. Liaise with Primary Care Support England and keep GP links updated.
Collate new notes and prepare for A4/summarising/GP2GP veryfying
Summarising notes to the practice standard
Liaise with outside agencies re electronic data eg Lab Links, hospitals etc
Cervical screening recall and Followup
Responsible for entering Child Protection data
Other responsibilities may include troubleshooting IT problems and identifying solutions. Where appropriate, report IT faults to appropriate supplier’s helpdesk
About us
Our practice includes 6 full time GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 7 Nurses and 3 HCA plus admin staff in various departments.
We are a friendly and successful GP Surgery and have been providing care for over 40 years. A lot of our staff have been working alongside each other for 15 years at least and some over 30 years.
We have a good work ethic and enjoy working as a team.

Assist in the setting up of new users according to practice protocol,
ensuring they have access to required applications

Troubleshoot IT problems and identify solutions. Where appropriate, report IT faults to
appropriate supplier’s helpdesk

Ensure all users are aware of any
changes or updates in the operating system or the software used within the
practice.

Ensure templates and searches are up to date and accurately entered
within appropriate time frames.
