Job summary

Due to the retirement of our Practice Nurse, a unique opportunity now exists to become part of our rural dispensing practice on a part time basis, Monday to Friday. The Partners are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive nurse to complement our small, friendly team of clinicians.

Main duties of the job

As a Practice Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients. You will work closely with our GPs, healthcare assistants, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of services, including chronic disease management,health promotion,vaccinations, and routine nursing care. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy and rewarding primary care setting, with the flexibility to support patients diverse healthcare needs.

We are seeking a well-rounded clinician with excellent clinical skills. We would be happy to encourage development into additional areas should they have a particular preference.

  • Assist withchronic disease managementfor conditions such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and COPD.
  • Provide health promotion advice, includingsmoking cessation,weight management, andhealthy living.
  • Performphlebotomy(blood sample collection) and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Deliversexual health adviceand family planning services, includingcontraceptionandsexual health screenings.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions, maintaining high standards of record-keeping in line with practice policies.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Registered Nursewith a currentNMCregistration.
  • Proven experience as aRegistered Nursein a clinical setting, ideally inprimary careorcommunity nursing.
  • Experience inchronic disease management, including managing conditions like diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and COPD.
  • Proficient inbasic nursing skills, such aswound care,blood pressure monitoring,immunisations, andphlebotomy.
  • Strongcommunication skillswith the ability to build rapport with patients and work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to workautonomouslyand manage time effectively in a busy practice environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional developmentand improving clinical skills.
