Job summary
We are looking for a salaried GP, ideally 5 sessions to join our fabulous small surgery in East Brent, Somerset. We are a stable and well staffed surgery, providing a comfortable, supportive and happy work environment.
We are a small rural dispensing GMS
practice offering an outstanding responsive service to 3300 patients. Our
reputation means our list continues to grow and is expected to reach around
4000 by next year. We operate from a large detached, well maintained house that
was converted into a GP Practice in 1994. It provides a wonderful location to
practice medicine from.
Our patients are respectful and courteous
and the Family and Friends feedback continues to be extremely positive about
the service we offer.
We currently have no capacity problems and
our GPs are actively supported by an enthusiastic and motivated clinical and
administration team. We provide a healthy work/life balance and accommodate the

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a GP who is motivated, independent, and wants to provide high quality care to our patients.
This GP will be working as part of a clinical team consisting of 2 GP partners and 1 other salaried GP, a Practice Nurse, a Health Care Assistant and a Health Coach.
Together they share the clinical care of 3300 patients in East Brent.

Key clinical responsibilities:
The post holder will practice in accordance with accepted good medical practice and the various clinical responsibilities of the practice to include:
Within the working week the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
They will make professional, autonomous decisions
They will assess the health needs of patients
They will contribute to QOF requirements and record data appropriately
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, they will develop care plans for health related illnesses
They will record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
They will prescribe in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
